Als Katte sich dem Schlosse näherte, erblickte er Ihro Königl. Hoheit den Kronprinzen am Fenster, worüber er sich erzlich erfreute, welcher ihm mit herzlichem Wehklagen, nachdem er ihm mit der Hand einen Kuß zugeworfen, zurief, "Mon cher Katte, je vous demande mille pardons, au nom de Dieu, pardon pardon." Darauf er die Hand an den Mund gethan und mit submisser reverenz geantwortet, "Point de pardon, mon prince, je meurs avec mille plaisirs pour vous."
When Katte approached the castle, he saw His royal Highness the Crown Prince at the window, whereupon he rejoiced. The Prince, lamenting with a heartfelt cry, threw a kiss at him, and shouted, "My dear Katte, I beg of you a thousand pardons, in the name of God, forgive me, forgive me." Then he put his hand to his mouth and replied with submissive reverence, "Nothing to forgive, my prince, I die with a thousand joys for you."
